Frequently Asked Questions
What services do you offer?Because pelvic floor function is complex and connected so closely to the rest of our body, we offer a wide range of services in an attempt to help you restore whole-person wellness again. Care is personalized, trauma-informed, and holisitic- helping you to move, feel, and function with greater ease in your daily life. See our ‘What’ section for more details.
Do I need a referral to work with you?Do you accept insurance?
No referral is needed. You can reach out through our contact form at the bottom of this website or schedule a free consultation. We do not accept insurance, however we can provide you with a superbill upon request for possible reimbursement from your insurance provider.
What kind of concerns can you support?
We always treat the person, not simply a diagnosis. With that being said, common reasons that bring others into pelvic therapy might include preventative health, pregnancy, postpartum, bladder or bowel concerns, pelvic pain, pain with intimacy, movement or core dysfunction, and navigating menstrual cycles or menopause.
Do you perform internal pelvic floor assessments or interventions?Internal work involves a finger being inserted into the vaginal or rectal canal to more easily palpate the pelvic floor muscles. This type of work is never required and many people are surprised to learn that meaningful progress can be made without ever utilizing this tool. You are always in control of your care and nothing will be done without your clear, informed, and ongoing consent.
What areas do you travel to for in-home visits? We currently provide in-home services throughout San Luis Obispo County and northern Santa Barbara County. If you are unsure whether you are within our service area, feel free to reach out via the ‘Contact’ button at the top of this page.
Do you offer virtual sessions? We are not yet offering virtual sessions but do plan to expand our follow-up visit options to include in-home or virtual in hopes of making pelvic care more accessible to more people! Keep an eye out for this addition soon.
